Healthy Transitions is a private medical practice that delivers medical care for transgender, genderqueer & gender creative individuals across the lifespan. We are proud to help our patients live authentically since 2006.

We specialize in gender affirming hormone therapy, puberty blockers. Consultations, Second letters, pre-op medical evaluations, and post-op after care.

  • The Trevor Project - “the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.”

  • Trans Student Education Resources - “a youth-led organization dedicated to transforming the educational environment for trans and gender non-conforming students through advocacy and empowerment.”

  • Trans Youth Handbook - created by the Harvard Law School in association with community organizations was released in June 2020. It is a legal resource guide that covers the rights of trans youth across such a wide spectrum of situations, including identity documents, school, health care, non-affirming care environments, and work.

  • Trans Youth Equality Foundation (TYEF) - The Trans Youth Equality Foundation is a national 501c3 non-profit foundation that advocates for transgender youth age 2-18. TYEF provides education, advocacy and support for transgender youth and their families.

  • TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation - An organization dedicated to funding research and education about transgender issues to build a brighter future for all TransKids. Our children aren't pink or blue - but rather - various shades of purple.

  • TransYouth Family Allies (TYFA) - Empowers children and families by partnering with educators, service providers and communities to develop supportive environments in which gender may be expressed and respected.

  • Families In TRANSition - A resource guide for parents of trans youth. It is the first comprehensive Canadian publication to address the needs of parents and families supporting their trans children.

  • Creating Safer Space for LGBTQ Youth: A Toolkit for Education, Healthcare, and Community-Based Organizations - This 73-page manual from Advocates for Youth can be downloaded free. It includes excellent sections specifically on supporting LGBTQ+ youth of color and trans youth.

  • Popular publications for parents. Here are five books that were influential in discussing transgender, nonbinary and gender-expansive children and adolescents:

    • "The Transgender Child: A Handbook for Families and Professionals" by Stephanie Brill and Rachel Pepper

    • "Gender Born, Gender Made: Raising Healthy Gender-Nonconforming Children" by Diane Ehrensaft

  • Queerspawn Resource Project - “Founded in 2019, the Queerspawn Resource Project focuses on developing and compiling resources that reflect the complex, authentic, and intersectional experiences of people with one or more LGBTQ+ parents/guardians and advancing advocacy work that furthers inclusion of queerspawn and their perspectives.”
