WYOMING
Virtual medicine (VM) visits are made available on a case-by-case basis to patients who are located in Wyoming since January 2022. After a longstanding patient moved to WY in 2021, we reached out to the WY Board of Medicine and to WY Equality to find a new provider for their transition-related care. At that time, our former patient was advised to travel 4 hours to UT for their transition-related care. Because or our experience in the field, and our ability to offer virtual medical visits, we were encouraged to apply for licensure in WY.
In 2019, Healthy Transitions launched a pilot of transhealth VM visits to a small group of our established patients, many of whom otherwise were traveling long distances to get to one of the offices. The response was universally positive and VM visits remain available to patients upon request, with a few exceptions.
Since the COVID state of emergency began in early 2020, all appointments including new patient appointments have been conducted virtually. Where an in-person examination is necessary, we will refer you to your primary care provider. Your health is our first priority.
In case you’re wondering…
The technology required for VM is commonly found on cell phones and is easy to use.
There are a few absolute requirements for VM:
You must have a STRONG internet connection. This is the #1 reason VM visits don’t happen.
Your locations should have plenty of light and NO background noise.
You should have privacy and be able to speak freely. If you would like to have a trusted friend or family member with you, that’s great!
We are happy to help you decide if VM is right for you.
