VIRTUAL MEDICINE
Virtual medicine (VM) visits were previously made available on a case-by-case basis to patients who are located in a state where our providers are approved to practice medicine: Wyoming, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.
In 2018, Healthy Transitions launched a pilot of transhealth VM visits to a small group of our established patients who were coming in for prescription refills and whose current lab results were normal, many of whom otherwise were traveling long distances to get to one of the locations. During the pandemic, we exclusively offered care virtually. Where an in-person examination is necessary, we partner with patient’s primary care provider. The response has been universally positive and VM visits will remain available to patients upon request with a few exceptions as your health is our first priority.
In case you’re wondering…
The technology required for VM is commonly found on cell phones and is easy to use.
There are a few absolute requirements for VM care:
You must have a STRONG internet connection. This is the #1 reason VM visits don’t happen.
Your locations should have plenty of light and NO background noise.
You should have privacy and be able to speak freely. If you would like to have a trusted friend or family member with you, that’s great!
We are happy to help you decide if VM is right for you.
